Here She Comes...
Well, I'm not pool-side and I'm not sipping a margarita, but Lily and I did eat dinner with 19 contestants of the Mrs. America pageant (in full sash) tonight. I didn't ask, but it seems that they have to wear their sashes around everywhere. I think Mrs. New Hampshire winked at me. Anyway, each time a table of them got up from their dinners, they came over to ask all the requisite questions about Lily. "How old is she?" "Where's her Mommy?" I'm wondering if they'll all be lounging around the pool tomorrow with their hair all did up and their sashes on. That would be odd, but I'll be sure to snap a few pictures if they are. There sure was a wide range from hot to not so much. The Mrs. pageant must judge inner beauty a little more heavily than other beauty pageants.

Hot Hot Hot!
We get to leave town again this weekend for a short trip to Palm Springs. Marisa is the new union rep for the school she teaches at and she has to go to a seminar. We called the hotel and they have WiFi access. Hopefully my next post will be from pool-side at 110º plus while I sip a margarita and watch Lily play in the water. I can dream can't I?

What's in a Name?
A post over at Write On Megs and the comments attached reminded me of something I forgot to add to my random thoughts below. While we were eating a wonderful meal at Wendy's I overheard the mom at the table next to us call her little girl Lexus. My first thought was, "Wow! Now when she grows up, she won't have to change her name when she goes into porn."

A Quick Vacation.
I'm back from a quick trip to Marisa's Mom's house up near Yosemite. Here are some random thoughts.
Favorite town names in between here and Yosemite: Pixley, Weed Patch, Goshen, Arvin.
While listening to my iPod on the car stereo, Bauhaus' version of Ziggy Stardust came on. Marisa asked with a completely straight face "Is this REO Speedwagon?"
I watched more Olympic television coverage than should be legal over the weekend.
I didn't go online for three days!
I bought new shoes at the Nike outlet in Tulare. I do care if they were made by child labor, but it just so happens that the Nike Air Max Moto is one of the only shoes that fits me perfect, so what's a guy to do? If you were wondering what to get me for my belated birthday, I wear a 9.5.
