She was only a step sister.
While commenting on Caoimhe's blog, I reminded myself of an interesting story about my wife and I. When I was in my early twenties, I was going out with a girl D for a few years. She ended up moving down south and our relationship didn't last, but we remained good friends. A few years later I was asked to take some pictures at the D's wedding. Remember, we remained friends, so I said OK. Move ahead a year or two and I'm now invited to the ex's sister M's birthday party. It was a luau theme so we all looked like dorks. This is the party where I met Marisa (we have been together ever since). What is interesting about this you ask? Well, I'll tell you. See in the few years that D and I had been broken up, her mother had married again and this brought some new step sisters into the family (the two have since divorced). I am now married to my ex girlfriend's ex step sister. Before the divorce It was hell all over again as I had to be around the ex's mother who always hated me and now she was talking shit about me to everyone including my new girlfriends dad! Man, am I glad that they eventually realized that she was a nut job (I had known for years). Oh, why did I mention taking pictures at D's wedding? Well, it seems that I sat at Marisa's table at that wedding. She remembered me, but I didn't remember her. I was working! Give me a break!

Madonna rocks?
The wife and her sister went to the Madonna concert at The Forum last night. After the show, my wife kept saying "Madonna Rocked!" I had to tell her to stop saying that because it just doesn't sound right. Anyway, all the controversy was about her show being political and had nothing to do with it being overtly sexual. Bummer. I guess this means that Britney and Christina will soon be showing visions of war in their shows. Can't we just get back to all the sex please? More beds on stage, less bombs!

Cousin Kitty
I was going through some boxes at my parents house as they are moving out of the house they have lived in for over forty years and I found this picture of my cousin Charlene. As you can see that was not the name she used on stage. She was part of a group called Ray Anthony and His Bookend Revue back in the sixties. Here's a review from the Miami Beach Daily Sun - " A tiny blond with a cute manner, Kitty Oliver made them sit up and take notice with 'Kansas City'." I just thought the picture was worth a million words so I'll stop here.

Spread the Love.
Just a quick post to plug a couple blogs. You know the person that leaves great feedback and chimes in with great opinions, but doesn't have their own blog so you say, "uh... someone needs their own blog?" Well, that's Caoimhe (pronounced Kee-va. Ask her, I guess it's an Irish thing). Now she's blogging and she's great at it. She's into art and books. Next up is Nocturnal Elucidations. This is a "dream blog" and they are looking for guest posters, so get over there and tell us what your brain did last night.
