12/14/2004: "Portrait Of A Native American"
This is Roy Pete. I wish I could remember the specifics about what he's wearing...
Roy Pete is the real thing. I wish I could give you the details, but I've forgotten them. I'm not always a very good listener.
camera/film: Horseman 4x5, Schneider 360mm f6.8 Symmar-S, Type 55 Polaroid. lighting: Very simple lighting here. There's one Mole Richardson 2K (2000 watt) Junior Solarspot (think old time movie light) to the right. I positioned Roy Pete in such a way that enough light would spill onto the background to get just a hint on the left of the frame. I like to light this sort of portrait so that light and shadow alternate across the shot from left to right. See how it goes light, dark, light, dark? It's a little subtle in this shot. I'll post a more obvious example in the future.

I wish I write with clearer thought. Me no think right.

OK, OK, so I forgot a word or two when I wrote that first sentence. I fixed it and now people are going to wonder what drug you're on.
Oh, and I put your link on you comment even though you apparently don't want anyone visiting your wondrous blog.
Don't make me come over there!
