05/20/2004: "I know WAY too much about nail polish."
I shot 60 individual images of nail polish poured on a white background today (I was just playing with the shot above). Does the world really need thousands of nail colors? I guess it pays the bills. I doubt if there are many straight men out there that can spot the difference between a Sech, Creative Nails, Orly, Jessica, China Glaze, OPI, or Essie nail polish bottle without seeing the label. Welcome to my world. It smells like lacquer in here. I have a headache.

I dunno who puts lime green on their nails and think they look goooood. Well, I have an idea, and they're wrong.

And where DID this nail polish inspiration come from?

It was a job that I photographed for Nailpro Magazine. They are one of my biggest clients. So needless to say I shoot a lot of manicure related stuff and have been for a few years now. I can also wield nail tech like verbiage around like c-curve and smile line.

Brooks, this is awesome. I don't suppose you've ever considered using Istockpro, have you?

Ahhhhhh! Royalty free photography is EVIL!!! I realize that some folks can't afford rights managed images, but as a whole, royalty free is the scourge of the commercial photography industry. It drives prices down and from my side of the fence, that's not a good thing.
