12/09/2004: "Old School Lighting Techniques"
It's been a long time since I've used this technique. Shot for Aware Products... model: Ditteke makeup and hair: Elke Von Freudenberg
I don't have any stories about the model or this shoot in particular. I'm sure something glamorous happened that day, but it was a long time ago. :-)
camera/film: Hasselblad, 150mm, Fuji Provia 100 lighting: The mainlight is a Speedotron head with a 20" reflector and a Lightsox diffuser. There is a white foamcore reflector on the right. The background is lit with a LTM 1K Pepper hot light gelled blue. The blurred effect is caused by leaving the shutter open after the flash fires (the modeling light is turned off on the main light). During the approx. two to four second exposure I would just shake the camera gently on the tripod. This technique used to be quite popular, but has kinda run it's course.

I've always loved simple black dresses. I'm wearing my favorite in a little over a week to my anniversary. Also, I am going to nominate you for the blog awards thing mentioned on my site.

I think he's already been nominated, now all that's left is to vote for him. He's "Joe's Corner Deli" versus "Subway" right now, so vote, and vote often.

I wish that lighting followed me around everywhere I went.

Omg, doesn't she look like Jack Bauer's daughter in 24 Hours?
