10/21/2004: "Celebrity Link Mine Field."

I was watching one of those "I Love the 80's" shows on MTV or VH1 or whatever and I saw Sheryl Lee Ralph, and it hit me that I've met a strange mixture of celebrities and sudo-celebrities in my life. I thought I'd try to write them all down so here it goes. Remember I'm counting people that just had their fifteen minutes along with those that are legends along with those that are only famous in their own worlds. I also only counted them if I had at least small talk with them, more than hellos. Off the top of my head, no particular order:

actors / tv celebs Kirk Douglas, Daryl Hannah, Denise Richards, Shawn Hatosy, Rachel Hunter, Golden Brooks, Heather Tom, Kelly Packard, Eric Lloyd, D.L. Hughley, Traci Bingham, Ru Paul, Mary McDonough, Alexandra Paul, Patricia Neal, Alison Arngrim, Stacy Dash, Fred Savage, Sheryl Lee Ralph, The Mommies - Caryl & Marilyn, Crystal Bernard, Puck, Ron Jeremy. Woh! Some of these are a stretch I know, but if Puck counts, then everyone else in there does. I've met some other soap stars, but I don't know their names.

music Dave Wakeling, B2K, Destiny's Child, Ashanti, Monica. Why so few musicians, and only one white guy? I don't even like R&B, but I've met a bunch of R&B singers at my friends studio. I've also met others, but don't remember their names.

sports Troy Aikman, Eddie Lawson, Bob Hannah, Jeremy McGrath, Kevin Windham, Ezra Lusk, Doug Henry, Jeff Emig, Donnie Hansen. After Troy Aikman, all of these guys are motorcycle racers, so really only celebs in the racing world although you may be familiar with a couple names.

Anyway, I don't really feel lucky meeting these fine folks, with the exception of a few of them of course. I just look at this list and try to imagine them all in one room together. What a strange party that would be.

This was a few years ago at my friend Chris' photo studio. They came for a photo shoot the same day they were on Leno and before they fired the last girl. There were four girls in the group then. I think the girl that left the group was Farrah? Of course she was the most personable. They were all very nice though.
