09/12/2004: "Audioscrobbler!"
Please let me point you to my latest obsession. Audioscrobbler. It's basically a web site built around a little application that tracks every song that you play on your computer. For me, that's iTunes, but it also works with all of the other music players like WinAmp. Anyway, it uses your track info to build a profile and point you towards others with similar music tastes. It's a great way to find new music and I've already been turned on to some new stuff in the last few days. You can stop by the link on the right to see what I'm listening to at any time (or what I was listening to if I'm not online). Oh, and yes, I realize what a strange name Audioscrobbler is. It's one of those words, that after a few years, you realize that you've been saying it wrong.

After looking around a lot, it indeed has a snobbish element to it. You don't see much in the way of boy bands or country music. I still like it though. Maybe they should have called it AudioSnobbler.

Zing! Brooks, you nailed them with that one.
No seriously, I'm going to do this. I can't wait to share my snobby tastes with the world. I'll send you the link when I get home from work and set it up.
