During the brief time that I lived in LA (3 months, Altair Place, Venice Beach)in the '90s, I remember KROQ playing Soul Coughing's "Screenwriter's Blues" ("It is five a.m. and you are listening... to Los Angeles..." ...and I felt like they were playing it just for me.
That's what KROQ means to me.

That song hit even closer to home for me because of my proximity to Reseda. Wow, three months. You got in and got out quick! Was it the roller skating guitar player that made you realize it wasn't the place for you?

It's so weird that to us Carson Daly was just this kid on the radio. Now he dates movie stars.

the roller skating guitar player was part of it, but so was the soap opera that was my life then. I had an ex-boyfriend chase/stalk me all the way from Massachusetts to San Francisco. I hid out in Venice with a friend of mine until he got the hint and left.

No, but they made much fun of him starting before he got on TV. He works at one of the top 40 stations. KIIS FM. They truly suck ass. You may have heard of their old bag of hot air morning DJ Rick Dees.

joe schmo (1 and 2) is one of the funniest shows going. and ralph garman is the shit.

I just realized after re-reading this post that I give the impression that Ralph Garman is no longer on the Kevin and Bean Show on KROQ. I just wanted to clear up that he is still on that show. And he is the shit for sure. Copygodd, you should go to kroq.com and listen to some of the morning show clips with Ralph. Some are your basic stupid skits, but there are some gems there too.
