03/10/2005: "Bob Kamps Memorial - Stoney Point"

There were a lot of tears, but many more laughs...

That's the kind of stories that were told about Bob today. My friend Jeff said something to the effect, "You'll never see another crowd of climbers like this one in one place ever again." I'm sure he's right. No climber touched the hearts and challenged the bodies of such a wide range of ages. Even some of Bob's family members were amazed at the turnout and the stories people had to tell. I heard one relative say, "We knew he climbed, but we had no idea."

How inspiring. I'm glad you had him, memories are always best when you have others to remember them with.

Fantastic photo...

A true tribute to the man that touched so many. I'm sure he was watching with a smile knowing that this truly would be one of the rare times that so many climbers would all be on the ground at the same time, all because of him!
